Its sole purposed is to teach reading skills at early ages and extend into early school grades. Read 180 Is a reading program aimed at readers in grades 4 through 12 and it can even be used beyond high school. Its objective is to assist students that are consistently preforming below grade level for more than 2 years. The program offers curriculum instruction, assessment and professional development aids. Blended instructional models, individualized instructional lessons and a 3 stages instructional level and supports. Read 180 can easily be implemented into the classroom because it provides blended instructional models for teaching as well as guiding activities. it helps to guide small and large group activities and incorporates the usage of literacy software as well as independent practice. Also it offers personalized instruction for special education students. The program is aligned with RTI program and Special Education principles and provides tracking of student performance and goals.

Wynn Wizard is a deluxe version of the reader program. Wizard offers scanning of text when used with the Pearl Document reader component. once printed text is scanned it can be converted into electronic text that can be read to the student. Not only does it read printed and scanned text it can also read documents online such as PDF files and Word files. The reader program is similar to the Wizard. the only difference is that it does not offer the scanning capabilites as the wizard but it still has some of the same features as the wizard. some of the features that both programs offer are:

It provides explicit and individual instructions in reading as well as writing. The program tracks progress as well as automatically adjusting to students needs for instruction. The program aligns with common core standards and principles of RTI which is important since many schools are now using both models as means of instructions. also the program offers a variety of resources to teachers and students. One exceptional way to use this program in the classroom is to use it for ESL students who are not profecient in English yet. Since the program offers personaliztion teachers can use this program to teach reading skills in their native language. Also, students with IEP's can benefit as well since the program has tracking features and automatic updates to instruction for the student.

PBS Kids
PBS Kids offers lots of reading activities that features many of the great educational shows that are shown on its stations. On the website if offers tabbed information for parents and teachers, and contests and challenges for students. The games are catergorized for what you want to learn. Students can pick and choose what they want to work on. They can pick from reading games, literacy, and spelling games. Teachers can easily use games from the PBS website and incorporate them into their instruction as an group activity or for individual activities for students who need additional assistance.

Book Adventure
Book Adventure is a an online program that's free and is sponsored by the Sylvan learning Company. Its similar to AR programs that are offered in some schools. If your school does not provide this program teachers and parents can use this program at home and school. Students simply enter in information for the books they are reading and take quiz's that are generated by the program. Teachers can use this program to track student reading, create reading reports based off of the students passing rate on quizes which can help a parents and teachers see if their student is comprehending what they have read. Also it can be used at home. So a teacher can assign students to take a reading test as homework at home and parents can use it as an enrichment tool.

Reading Rewards
Reading Rewards is an online program that rewards children for reading. This online program offers student tracking where it records the students duration of reading. For each minute and hour a student reads they are provide rewards. For instances if a student read for 60 minutes they can trade in those minutes for an activity they want to do. The program also what they read and provides reports for parents and teachers. It offers tools for teachers to create reading groups, individualized and group reading goals, learning targets, and track student progress. In my current teacher education practicum they use a reading log sheet where the students write out what they read, how long they read and their parents must sign the form. their signature shows that they have watched their child read. I think this will be a great tool for teachers to track in classroom reading times and show parents their students reading logs from school and their progress in reading.
